Skald or Minstrel Solo

Looking to play one of classes solo. How are they both damage wise, does the pet + 1 hand weapon equal about the same damage a 2 hand skald can put out? Is the minstrel more kiting and letting the pet dish out damage, where as the skald is more in your face?

Skald is far easier though if you are decent player the minstrel is far superior

Don't go skald (playing skald here).
The possibility to CC more people without waiting 15 secs and insta stun gives you much more utilities.
