NS struggeling to take out keep guards

I have a young NS ...level 34. I found in my BG that keep guards always BAF. The guards are blue to me but are almost instantly joined by others. I was hoping I could help my realm mates taking out guards on a target keep. Do I need to bring a fellow assassin to handle adds....or forget the idea ? Any info and suggestions would be appreciated.

Well, you are not supposed to take the keep alone.
The only guard that does not baf in the bg is the one, who is standing alone, outside the first door.

Well, you are not supposed to take the keep alone.
The only guard that does not baf in the bg is the one, who is standing alone, outside the first door.

I am NOT talking about an assassin being able to solo take a keep.Of course that would be unbalanced.I do not know how things are supposed to be in Phoenix. In live DAOC....assassins would always be able to kill guards and people on the parapets.It was part of what they did to prep a keep for the main body to take it. There is an inner keep door.Guards never came through the door to attack you...as they do now. YES ...a team of assassins should be able to take a keep.They can do that in live DAOC(they did it in the past,I assume they can still do it). In Phoenix today assassins can be expected to hide inside keeps when they are taken,and try to kill the lord and turn the keep. IT IS WHAT THEY DO.
My question is.....is the ultra high level of BAFING of keep guards in this version of DAOC which severely restricts what a solo assassin can do..... the new norm ?

Iirc, it was the same on live (and Uthgard) back then. You can -depending on the keep alb/hib/mit - kill 2-4 of the wall archers without the inner guards adding. The old keep designs were not really stealth friendly as the NF keeps are. The inner courtyard guards add when you are to near to the edge and they always BAF. What may be a little off is the guards adding from inside the tower. And the problem is they changed the archer guards to melee guards thus they also add.

I also would like the keeps a little more stealth friendly ^^

I've played with this in empty Cale before I bumped to /level 40. These notes might not apply outside of Cale, especially with different keep designs, but I would expect the general mechanics to be similar.

Technically, the guards aren't BAFing. They're attacking you if and only if they have LOS and are within range of you. Your nukes require the same LOS and the same or shorter range. They do call for help once the fight has started, but if you keep the fight far enough from their friends, their cries will go unheeded.

It's possible to draw non-archers off the top (though why there were no archers there was beyond me and possibly a bug) by positioning yourself just so they can see you through the cracks. For the guys out front, you need to position yourself so ONE of them can see you around the corner and none can see you from up top. You can pop in and out of stealth until you're sure only one is aggroing on you, then open with a nuke. Draw him out of yell for help range and pound away.

The danger is if there are any up top who can "see" you when you draw your target away from his friends, you'll suddenly get adds. And as I mentioned, there were no archers there when I was testing this, though I've certainly seen them there before. I would expect to use a typical draw for a ranged NPC of moving out of his range and forcing him to chase you.
