IS ROAMING WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT ?

I'm by nature a solo player. Archer is/was my thing. Keep fights was THE best thing in the game for me (I played DAOC for over 12 years....on/off). MY PASSION WAS Keep take.....keep defense. NOT ROAMING. Unfortunately this version does not emphasize sieging. A ram is it. Now In beta I got several characters to 50 by actually xp-ing. I was less than excited when I got to 50 and experienced very little of what the 50 level game and sieging could be.

I'm asking. I'm trying to find out if i should put in the time to get some characters to 50. Can some detail whether there is a strong, fun amount of castle siege....even though a ram is all there is to take a keep. And there are no keep towers to fight over and fight from .

HOW do you have fun on the frontier ? Mainly roaming ?
Perhaps mile gates are the place for someone who loves ranged combat ?

I would appreciate your pov and insights as I try to judge whether to push on with several characters .

Could just hang out in your own frontier and kill whatever grey gankers come to kill xpers. I stayed in Uppland for a few hours earlier, and kept killing the Minstrels who only kill xpers, and try to run from anyone who doesn't con grey to them. Easy Rps due to the fact they have no idea how to actually fight against someone who can actually fight back.

as archer stay away from mile gates. they are camped by assassins and its certain death for archer.
follow tasks for target. ambush ppl between mile gates and objective. around after 10 am cet zergs get massive size. you can run visible with zerg and tag enemies with rapid shot to get your tasks done. during fight emain/odin's tasks you can have a chance see 2 zerg war at mile gates, this is what you can get similar to castle war.

if you want old school 1v1 or group roam go emain while task is at odins/hadrian. i see many ppl sick of zerg and looking for real fight doing so.

A bit OT but, do grey give RPs? tought they gave only maybe +1 on kill counter..

greys give you nothing not even something for the title stats, but as soon as it is green it appears yellow to 50 and starts arround 300rp for a solo kill, not that bad and also count for solo kill tasks

To answer the OP, I have seen casters and archers on the hills around the mile gates during zerg fights. That may give you the same feel as a castle siege.
