Wizard has hardest hitting hit in game debuff matter cast matter bolt.. probably close second crit shot on archers. Hardest hitting chain reaver backhit.

I totally understand that the paper daoc favors rangers, but anecdotally speaking, I’ve been hit WAY harder by certain scouts. Watika, if you’re reading this.... nice work, man. There’s not much I can do against you when I run into you. If vanish is up, I use it. If not, I accept my death as I try to run.

I think he meant no combos (i.e. debuff + bolt). Bolt (and crit shot) would hit even harder after AF or abs debuffs.
I´d go with bow ranger crit shot with 3 strength relics which is quite realistic on this server.
Hardest hitting style would be PA (if you consider its special handling of Con debuff), Levi is a 2nd after those CritStrike styles.

I got hit by a Ranger for 1,025 (no crit) when they had had all three strength relics long enough to get the full bonus.
Granted, I was on my Runemaster and sitting, but good god damn that hurt.

Depends on the target. My RR4 lurikeen ranger is 50 bow, 48 pf, and templated to max his stats, and yet his crit varies from a maximum of 1042 on soft targets with no RR and bad templates to 392 on a RR5 cloth caster with their #%@^ together.
I'm sure the big hitter casters see the same variance.

Yeah people just like to rag on rangers.. crit shot does half damage on bubbled targets. Debuff bolt does full dmg

You can't crit on crit shot. Like the name says, it's a forced crit.
So a bolt with a crit will do higher damage.

Simple truth is that if you waste crit as an opener on a caster then you're playing your archer wrong.
You should open with a regular, or even better a rapidfire shot so that the minimal damage won't spook your mark and compel them to run away. Then you follow with a full damage critshot.
Archers also get the advantage of arrow selection to "debuff" damage in a way vs the armor type they shoot at, while bolts get a flat reduction depending on AF of what they're blasting.

any melee or ranged physical attack does double damage to a sitting target, that isn't unique to archers. Just sayin =D

The reality is the game is based on a team effort. Debuff casters will consistently hit harder than anything else. Reaver with cold debuff is also stupid.

For what it is worth...Dbmb prob the hardest hitting ranger in the game. Rr11, max bow 48 pf, max aug dex and often runs with a bard for red base dex.. CON debuff (-46 CON) followed by STR/CON debuff (-54 or -66 CON),
then volcanic pillar V (600) hits at the same time as the pet's lifetap (~270-379 or ~351-492 crit),
which results in:
worst -100 CON & 870,
best -112 CON & 1092
(RR8) Follow up with a second lifetap (~270-492) and Ichor V (400) and the potential damage jumps to:
worst -100 CON & 1540
best- -112 CON & 1982
over "two" hits
