Hello, everyone, I am new to DAoC I only played for around 2 months when it launched then went right back to Everquest. I am going to give this game a try "finally" and see if I like it.

Since I am new and know nothing about the game I have a few newb questions that maybe you guys/gals might be able to help me with.

1. I Run 2k monitors and I cannot see a darn thing in the game all the text in the UI windows are so tiny!!!!! is there a recommended custom UI for 1440p or a way to scale the UI?

2. Is there any guide specifically for this server in regards to character creation? Like what race is best for what class and where to spend your attribute points. I'll be playing Hibernia I'll be making a druid, bard, and animist I would like to know best races for said "way" and what stats they need gear they need, etc.

Any help would be much-appreciated thanks.

You can only scale the chat windows and the chat font most of the other UI elements are fixed.
The only way to get them bigger is to lower the resolution.
I'd recommend 1920*1080 max. It's a game from 2002, don't expect too much in terms of usability.

"Best" is often linked to what you want to do with the character. Some stats may be good if you want to RvR with your char, but if it's a pure pve farm toon you might not need a specific stat.

Druid: usually 15dex 10 emp. Race recommendation: celt. Okay too: Sylvan. Meh: Firbolg (low Dex)
Bard: 15 Dex as well. After that you can decide between 10 char or con. I'd do charisma. Race recommendation: celt.
Animist: depends. Pve farm? You don't the additional Dex usually, because the cast time of shrooms is fixed. But you won't need con as well so you can go 15 int and 10 Dex. RvR Ani: 15dex 10 int.
Race recommendation: RvR: celt or Sylvan. Pve: doesn't matter

Just my recommendations, a bit shortly explained because I'm on mobile.
Another one: just play and use your unlimited respecs.
And there should be a /help command ingame which also explains some aspects of the game.

You can change the resolution in the character select screen. Changing this setting from what I have experienced will only change the size of the UI, not the actual resolution of the game. You can easily change that to 1920x1080 and not impact much other than the size of the UI.

Hope this helps.

By the way, I would beginn as a newbe not in Hibernia. Albion would be a better choice. Or even Midgard. The coll down for realm switch is very short, just take a look on different realms and choose the best for you. And try to join a big active guild as soon as possible. Community is very important here.
