Are Thanes good for solo in Rvr? Or is it better to create a skald, because, i have read they are very good soloing?

Skalds are definitely a solo-RvR friendly class. Back in ye olden days on Mid-Nimue, Renshai the Skald did a lot of solo running around and racked up good RPs doing so. Your damage output likely won't be as good as a Thane, but you get a lot more utility with your Battlesongs, so one-on-one fights where you get the jump would be decidedly in your favour against most classes, not considering RAs and such.

However, I love Thanes. They are my favourite class in the game by far, and it would be remiss of me not to encourage you to instead get yourself a 50 Thane and find a Skald duo-RvR partner. You can do it all, except heal. Ranged DDs, Instas for interrupting, 42-Shield Slam, and excellent melee with the ability to switch between one hander and two handers on the fly. Shame Phoenix doesn't have the DD-on-Styles update for Thanes, but your ability to front-load damage is still quite good.

It's all about what you'd prefer, but I'd still choose Skald over Thane if I were determined to be a solo-RvR character. Speed 5 alone is worth that.

Thane is really strong solo, you don't have to be afraid of most classes at all. The biggest downside, especially during primetime, is not having speed. Nearly impossible to finish your solo fights without an add most of the time.

So if you're only capable of playing during prime time, you might want to pick another class which can pick fights more easily.

Thane is actually really fun solo BUT as long as you follow the zerg . Keep defense is also very fun as a Thane. If you want to be 100% solo tho it will be tough not to get run over by a group with speed.
