State of the Bonedancer - Phoenix Freeshard

Hi All,

I played DAoC at launch and for many years thereafter. Definitely my favorite MMO to date and I haven’t played anything quite like it since. Just found out about this freeshard and got excited

Want to get a friend to try the game. He has been looking for an MMO with a class similar to the Diablo 2 necro (i.e. can command an undead army, not just a single pet). I figured Bonedancer is right up his alley.

What is the current state of Bonedancers? How do they perform in RvR? Are there any builds that are considered optimal? What class would be a good partner for a Bonedancer?

On a side note, what expansion does Phoenix go up to? I assume it doesn’t include ToA.

Welcome to Phoenix, hope you enjoy your stay

Bonedancers are strong (some argue too strong). A good partner for a Bonedancer would be a RM, Shaman or Healer, but you can pick whatever. If you plan on running exclusively duo in RvR, then Skald is the required partner. Skald and Bonedancer is a very good duo.

Phoenix is patch 1.65, which is Shrouded Isle. There are a lot of custom QOL implemented, too many to list. You can read up below:

The staff is very active, listen to the community and likes to experiment with "weekend events".

Thanks for the info! Skald is actually one of my top class picks, so good to know there’s synergy.

Regarding Bonedancer race selection, is Troll at a serious disadvantage with their low dex?

Also does anyone have a link or reference to common BD builds?

Most people I see are 39/37 or 38/38 (Dark/Supp)

Troll isnt so bad since your mainly killing with pets... Troll is good to solo with cause of the high con,, somewhat harder to kill...,,
