Solo Skald

Kobold vs Dwarf

Seems like the go-to is to work with 1h until you can get some reactives off. Which race would be best for solo? Is the extra dex worth it to cap Parry? With the HP Boosts, it seems capping Parry is the best way to outlast an opponent and then wittle them down with DD's, and IP.

Anything I must have in my template besides TG vest, legion gem and maybe the d/q debuff hammer?

Thanks in advance!

Parry does nothing if they're spmming you with sidestyles

I usually try to counter strafe and keep them frontal.

I have a 50 troll skald and now leveling a dwarf skald. Haven't temped or done rvr on the troll yet but wanted a dwarf.... might take both to rr4 or so and see which I like more but smaller size is nice

My plan is purge 3/IP3/sos 1/mo parry 5/6

See how that goes.

Also, dex doesn't really do squat for your overall parry %.... maybe 1% ... so wouldn't worry about dex.

75 Dex is 3% parry, and if you want to solo.... take it.

Mh, you probably know that but just to be sure so you do not waste time. You know there are race respecs available, so you can change your troll skald into a dwarf one, at least if you have some money?

Yeah its 100k feathers... I'm really stingy with using them and don't wanna waste on a race respec.

It 4% actually (basically mop2) since the formula takes your dex and doubles it.

parry = 5 + (((dex * 2) - 100) / 40) + (parry / 2) + mop

Base 50 dex (100)
Temp 75 (150)
Buffs 65 (130) self pot buffed

380-100/40= 7%

Without temp 75 dex
230-100/40=3.25%

Bruh where the eff are ur numbers coming from lol. Straight from the parry formula...

dex bonus = 1 / 40 * ((dex * 2) - 100)%

90 dex = 2%
80 dex = 1.5%
70 dex = 1%
50 dex = 0%

A kobold's 20 dex advantage at the start is only worth 1% towards your parry rate... not counting combined forces or anything else.

You cannot just take the 75 and plug it into the formula to get a value and say that's all it gives! Figure out what your dex would be without and with 75 in your template, run the formula I posted above and you can figure out the parry rate. It's just under 4% for a Dwarf Skald w/ and without full template bonus. 75 dex put into the formula is just above 1%, but when you look at your total possible dex and add/remove template dex it makes a bigger difference. Like I posted, 7% from being dorf, template, self buffed (total dex possible is 190 dex (380-100/40= 7%) vs 75 not in the template is 115dex (230-100/40=3,25%). So the difference is just under 4%. This formula figures out my dorfs parry rate just fine matching what the system kicks back.

I think you're misunderstanding what I am saying...I am assuming the +75 in temp and combined forces... so those are constant and can thus drop out the equation... so its still only a 1% difference between starting stat of 50 vs 70 of the kobold. I am ONLY talking about the 20 pt differential between the starting stats, that is it.

In your case you are saying just drop the +75 out of your temp... well yeah then that would make a little bit of a difference.

dex 50 + 75 = 3.75%
dex 50 = 0%

We are essentially saying the same thing.
