I know I know, casters are tougher to solo on, so no need to say it. My question is between BD and Dark SM for solo RvR, mostly bridges, DF, etc. I like that BDs can also have the option of 8v8 as the interrupter more than SM (although both can), but mainly will be soloing. Played a BD to rr11 back in 2005ish, but its obviously been awhile. Which of these 2 would you recommend? Thanks!
My experience playing both solo here a good amount: go BD if you want to do DF, otherwise they're both good.
On BD, purge is more important and I like having juggernaut even because you're really a sitting duck if someone's smart enough to frontload on your commander. Contrary to popular belief, you also have to kite quite a bit to be consistently successful, so TWF is also nice when you need to get some distance when more than one enemy gets the drop on you. Nice thing about BD is that you don't really need to bother with MoC, which makes it much more practical to throw points into PD.
On SM, I haven't bothered to go past purge 2 because my pet soaks up stuns and assassin poisons often enough that it's just not that important. Surprisingly, SM just feels much easier to react with when people do get the jump on you because of those intercepts and also mezzes. MoC is kind of a must, though. I mean, you don't need it to win fights, but you'll win a lot more 1vX fights if you have it to fall back on. You do have to be more thoughtful about positioning and playing the interrupt game than with a BD, though.
