Race for Healer - Phoenix Freeshard

I am pretty sure race is not a deal breaker with your class and it's mainly play the class you like the look of more. However, I wanted to see what people's thoughts were on what race they would choose for a healer and why that race, besides just liking the looks of it.

I am not very knowledgeable about the game so let me know your thoughts to give me some ideas on what race I should choose for a Tri spec healer (I mainly do small man with bros) .

Former it was traditionally a dwarf. Here you have access to Frostalf.
He has more dex, more piety - most important attributes for a healer.
More dex: quickness of casts, better block. Perhaps most important thing for a healer. +10 compared to Norse or Dwarf, which means aug dex 3 for free for a Frostalf.
More Piety: stronger heals, more power pool. + 15 for Frostalf. Again aug. piety 4 for free.

Stronger heals? Does piety affect the amount of heal on Phoenix?

No piety does not affect heal values, only power pool.

You go frosty for the dex and dwarf to be a badass

if you want to smallman...how could you NOT play a dwarf?

seriously though, the modellsize is a benefit you shouldn't scoff at when smallmanning, and depending on your Bros, maybe you can even make a dwarf-only group, and all look very similar/identical.

When you start waving your arms, everyone will know ofcourse, but in smallman-engagements you can play some nice mindgames with such "disguises"

Everyone did just fine with Dwarf and Norse Healers before Frostalfs were a thing. So play what you want, technically Frostalfs have the better stats though.

My personal opinion on the matter is that yes, frosties have slightly better stats, but are way more likely to eat a NS on inc because they are almost always a caster or support.

Dwarves have better resists and slightly more hp, and are much lower on NS priority until you start waving glowey hands around.

Plus dwarves are just sexy as hell.

I chose Dwarf because my Healer was one back in the day on Morgan Le Fay.

On inc, a Frostalf with a small shield is a priority.

Dwarf with small shield, first thoughts are usually skald/thane... more likely to give you a few extra seconds to land CC or a few heals before someone figures out you're a healer. Add to that 5% Body resist, 3% Thrust resist (which your armor is weak to), small model, and a sexy eye patch and there really is no other choice.
