Can they make it in rvr? If so which spec and setup?

Sure, BDs are great. 38 Darkness/38 Suppression is a popular spec, allowing for decent nukes in both lines, good pets (36 heal pet for soloing/zerging, 36 disease and 33 nuker pet for roam/8man) although the commander is quite squishy, yellow lifetap and resistdebuff for survivability and interupts.
Setup-wise BD works well in most comps (only speaking about 8man/roam). Recently Mid caster groups became popular, where BD can join the spirit debuff train with RM, SM and sometimes Thane. In Mid Hybrid BD is often the char with high dps output per fight when assisting a cold debuffing Rm, only outmatched by a backline savage. Tanker with a single BD is also seen sometimes, but imho the BD has a hard time in this setup and needs some RR to be of much use.

Ive also been thinking fo running a BD solo. With 39 Dark and 36 Supp.

Do most people just cast two minions, the lvl 36 healer from Supp and the lvl 39 Nuker from Dark, and then just try to outlast any damage until the pets kill the target (ie, Lifetap and pets heals keeping the Caster alive until pets kill the enemy?)

I thought solo spec was two healingnpets and jinxer
47/48 supp. 25/24 dark
