Old Frontiers

Hi,

I’m thinking of playing Hibernian as it was the first realm I ever reached 50 on. I’ve heard that on old frontiers the other two realms get a direct portal into the main eve area of old frontiers whereas Hibernian have to run? Can anyone shed some light on this please because I’m not sure I fully understand what that involves. Does it mean Hibernian players have to travel more to get to the action?

My playing time is fairly limited during the week so I wouldn’t want to ultimately spend it running more than fighting!

Thanks

Yes you have to run, unfortunately.

It could be seen as a disadvantage. But here are some factors to consider.

1) Hastener buff is 10 minutes, that will get you to Emain with time to spare.
2) There is a rotating RvR kill task in each of the 3 realms (Odins, Hadrians and Emain). Emain will always be a hotspot, but there will be more action in these other zones for ppl going after the bonus rps. Allowing you an insta port.

People completely ignored the RvR tasks and just fought in emain (or event zones when open) throughout i50. I have some rather despondent posts in my history that are related to that, in that this is where the game will eventually end up. I have been repeatedly assured that people are going to care more about getting task RPs and will be more likely to take keeps and participate in RvR tasks after release... we'll see.

I will say that though I spent a lot of i50 on Midgard builds, I did eventually find the hibbie run out to emain to be tolerable. If the action really is entirely in emain, then you can run there with little danger of being intercepted, so it gets easy to just zone out until you get there.
