NS or Ranger for solo play?

Hey all, quick question. Haven't kept up on the latest buffs/nerfs. Im pretty casual, cant commit much to a group, so have to play solo mostly. Love Hib, wondering which class is best for soloing now? IIRC, melee ranger was pretty good, but unsure how it stacks up now.

Any help would be appreciated

both are good.

Most would choose a Nightshade because the style is a bit more simple minded than a ranger. (No offense ment. Good NS play is tough as rocks)
But it's mostly: sneak sneak, attack and then win = stealth and die = release.

For rangers this gameplay style often don't suit. On lower RR's they are tougher to play.
But on higher ranks they are better than NS. more utility. Though sneak sneak attack attack stealth/release also applies.
Often it's better too attack attack run stealth attack attack run stealth etc. or depending on target and status remain for fight.

The combo of NS/Ranger is actually really fun. Also on keep fights (Defensive) I'd prefer ranger.
