Mid to Hib transition

Hey hibernians,

I have never played hib for all those years I've been playing daoc and somehow feel a little fascinated about hib support classes / 8 man group comps.

Right now I am mostly playing on my SB solo and BD for farming in mid and would like to level a visible class for group fighting, but I just can't find anything I enjoy anymore in mid.

I don't really know what's holding me back, but I somehow am reluctant to transition to another realm and start over fresh. Do any of you feel the same way?
Would you guys say making a bard or druid as first chars is at least somewhat intelligent? Those classes seem to attract me the most right now, but I would probably have to level an animist at the same time to be able to provide the needed income for the chars I would enjoy

What is it that's attracting you the most playing as hib? What is it that's separating hib from other realms? I kind of feel burned out of mid since I know it for years, but it's also kinda hard to leave the safe haven

I feel you, i don't want to start over on other realm, also because of realm pride but that just me.

regarding druid or bard, yeah they are always needed in rvr, druid also in pve.
Regarding bard, don't forget it's also the one who drive and land mezz.
But for me yeah it's seems a good choice if you want to be grped and stuff.

Honestly i started Hib because a friend was here, i've always been an alb at heart, and tbh there not many class i like in Hib.
What make hib so special ? Nothing make hib so special, the environment has his own charm, like alb or mid.

What make a realm so special is the bound you create with your guildies or the people you grp with, you will see that hib also have some very very nice people, some people really helpful, some asshole as well, some elitist prick too.

Hey djegu, nice to see that someone kind of feels the same like me or at least gets where I'm coming from

I invested quite some time now to get my sb fully temped and to a fairly decent rr (5+) but I don't feel the motivation anymore to go solo all the time.

I guess I will level up an animist as my first char or are there better farm chars in hib?
Maybe ench to have the option to play a caster in a grp setup aswell?

Are there frequent galladoria raids? Cercei leading TG 5 times a weak was quite a charm to get feathers to temp my chars

I still haven't decided on bard or druid as my main tho, are there any other hib classes that are favoured in standard 8 man groups that are not overpopulated?

Hib's main attractions to me are the interesting caster classes (animist, VW, etc.) and the colour green

For PvE nothing in Hib can touch the farming capability of an Animist. All in all I wouldn't roll a character just to support your bard/druid. As a druid you will find groups very easily and as a bard relatively often even though they are in high demand at 50. As a support people will take you around everywhere with them anyways so you will get to see the sights.

Don't be scared to try out Hib. I understand the safety blanket feeling but with Phoenix having Teleporters everywhere, jumping around is fast and easy so learning new places is simple. I was in the opposite situation (checked out Mid for the first time) and after reaching lvl 20 I knew where to go or a least quickly find it.

TLDR: I would say start a druid and don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone!

If anyone starting on Hib needs some starting stuff, msg me. Starting broke isn’t as bad as before but still stinks.

Even if bards would end up being the most oversatured class, good bards are national treasures and if people know your name it's not going to matter how many others there are.

I now have a level 28 druid, 28 ani and 26 bard. I think my main is going to be bard, because it's something different to all the chars I've played before, is quite hard to master and offers a lot of challenges and diversity. Besides, I guess bards have to take responsibility for the team while leading and have a significant impact on how each engagement is going to turn out.
So overall a really interesting choice

Ps: I might also try a warden some time. All hib support classes look and feel really unique and different to what I played so far.

I would like to try hib as well, but after investing so much time getting established in mid, and with the 12 hour timer, it is a hard transition. I would still like to play my mids, but only have a few hours each day to play. The 12 hour timer kind of kills it for me. My friends play mid (when they are available) and I would not want to be locked out for day if they decide to play
