is this viable? i've seen a few luri NS videos on Phoenix and wanted to know if that is viable with such crappy strength..? if so that is awesome! and want to try it out.
Also leveling spec, full weapon/comp venom?

as this is a new server and there is most likely DIFFERENT things that i'm not sure about! yea sure some things may be OBVIOUS but you never know!

not only it is viable, it is considered the strongest assassin/spec

going slash instead of thrust changes the armor-resists against Infiltrator from resistant to neutral (+10% dmg) and against SB from resistant to vulnerable (+20%dmg)

EDIT: i mean regarding bladeshade spec... I don't know if elf or lurikeen is the better option

could be, i don't know.

I admit i didn't really think about race when making my comment, was more referring to decision of going slash on a nightshade

As for leveling, what should i go? full weapon/comp venom?

OK for the superiority versus other assassins, but what about versus visibles and hunters? Would pierce have an advantage on more classes than speccing blade?

Pierce is good against chain classes on all realms and studded on albion. Pierce is bad against plate classes, studded mid classes, leather albion and leather mid classes.

Blades is neutral to all armor classes on albion, good against mid studded and mid leather. Bad against chain armor on mids.

That's what the armor tables are for.
All Albion is neutral to slash. Mid leather and studded is vulnerable, chain is resistant, cloth neutral (as against everything).

Ignore the elemental damage types, they were added later.

Thank you very much, rubaduck and Halma. That's what I was looking for.

Currently at lv 48, tonight I'll have to decide how to spec my elf NS.

For levelling I went composite CD, high envenom to have the highest DoT possible for a certain level and the rest in weapon; at lv 25 I respecced to get the stun of 5 seconds. With Alchemy at 600 you can keep your NS buffed all time (you'd get lots of fun in Thid) and using Tinderboxes you'll be able to chain kill OJ mobs and even reds while farming XP items. Normal stat pots are very cheap.

Blades is nice in stealth wars but against a skald solo what u do ? I would go pierce anyway, Ok you do less damages to sb but you still got many chances to beat them being lurikeen having more weaponskill than with blades the difference between slash and pierce against sb is not really a 20% but more a 10%. Besides i see a lot of skalds and minstrels soloers that you can fight better with pierce weapons cause of the bonus.
The enemy archers are not a problem both with blades or pierce cause in melee they are just weak.
