There are two druid specs really, 42 nurt 33 reg or 40 reg 36 nature. They both fill heal roles, you're not really going to find "battle" nature druids (or at least not very successful ones) Nature druids in rvr here spec 40 reg, for the fast nearsight cure, then put the remainder into nature giving them a couple insta roots which are good for rupting or catching your enemy's group off gaurd on inc or keeping enemy supports locked down while their tanks/dps over extend. The pet's a very nice tool if used properly for interrupting. But again, your main focus is likely still going to be healing.

Keep in mind also that Wardens just recently got nearsight cure, so you may be seeing a lot less 40re/36na, soon. This is especially true for zerging, where most groups will expect buffs of some sort from a druid. However, if you are IN an actual set group, 40/36 is still very viable.

As far as pve spec, it's 42 nurture, 33 regrowth. You can spec buff your entire group and your heals are still really quite decent.

Also, casters and healers alike still run away from any pet that isn't the level 1 one. I had a Healer run away from the level 7 one a whole entire fight, when like, 3 hits of a hammer would have just killed it. Just make sure to send your pet out early so it's not next to you the whole fight, thus making you a pretty obvious druid XD
