Is it standard practice to use crafted armor as part of your template?

So I'm trying to get templated on a fresh 50.

I have my raid chest item and SI necklace.

I bought a couple accessories/jewelry but I hear it's a good idea to buy a set of 99% crafted armor (minus chest).

Is this pretty standard across the board?

If so, what determines the stats that come on crafted armor?

Yes this is the way to go. Use Loki 1.4 to help you determine the stats. You can also do it manually of course. Some people if they have enough high utility rogs can go weaponless ...meaning they can go for any weapon they choose for damage type or proc. (Ofc still need to be specced in that damage type.)

Thanks, I downloaded Loki 1.4

I think I'm using it wrong though. I put my current (crap) gear into the equipment area.

Am I supposed to enter in my crafted set into there? I'm confused.

The idea is to get the best jewelry you can afford, optional to use TG chest piece, and the. Use player crafted armor to fill in the rest of the stats you need.

Don’t enter all of your current gear. Just your highest utility jewelry that doesn’t conflict. Aka if ever piece of jewelry has crush resist and that adds up to 35 crush resists you need to find pieces that don’t overlap to much as the max resist is 26. Then as I said you fill in missing stats on the player crafted pieces.

99% armor/weapons with max over charge can use 33.5 imbue points. So try to mix and match your stats to get 33.5 on each crafted piece.

Ok cool, I went ahead and bought some jewelry with at least 52+ total utility and tried to balance them so they wouldn't overcap a stat/resist.

So the idea is to have someone craft a full set (minus the chest) of 99% armor.

The armor will be blank, correct?

So I hire a SCer to put stats on it? But before I do that, I run Loki on all my items (except the pieces the crafted armor will replace) and that will tell the SCer what they need to add to the pieces?

Thank you for the help.

Yep. The SC’er can also enchant the armor, than you need procs and an LGM alc to put them on the crafted pieces.

You dont need the alch skill to put procs on armor

Get some quest items, farm some rogs, take place in a raid or two to get some feathers for the real good stuff and fill up the rest with crafted gear.

If you happen to find a nice guy able and willing to build a template using the stuff you got , you'll be fine...btw that guy could be me ;-)
