If I all I want to do is salvage can I just level metalworking?

I remember on Uthgard I had to level Tailoring to I think 1100 to get Metalworking high enough to salvage arcanium. I could be wrong about the exact values.

Crafting isn't really my thing so can I just level metalworking and completely ignore the main craft line?

Your secondary skills are capped by your combined primary skills.

Level fletch, tailor, ac, wc to ~300 and then you can cap your secondaries

This is good ressource to get a general overview.
Just keep in mind to salvage the highest stuff here you need a Skill of 1100+.

So better get tailor a bit higher, then trinket the other secondaries a few hundred higher and THEN in the end use fletching/AC/WC to get the last levels for cheap

So I got 1,100 metal working tonight. I did tailor/armorcraft/weaponcraft to 300 then I did Fletching to 500 and the combination of all of that got me to 1100

Is there any point in going higher?

Also as to asterite does it matter what you trinket? Are the jewelry boxes worth more then the hinges?

All trinket recipes will end up selling for the same amount per bar.
