Sorc spec for 8-man and small men

Hello everyone,

wondering what everyone is speccing based on server changes from live and from Uthgard (for example, Uthgard had very hard power dependencies where going full mind made sense).

My sorc is nearing 50 and am pondering on a final spec to start RvRing. Question is either going high mind or mid mind and body.

46 Mind / 28 Body which arguably is a better spec for pure 8-man as it gives better control but reduces dps output and loses AoE Root.
36 Mind / 40 Body which greatly increased dmg output and give a good AoE Root but losing PoM5, best Str/Con debuff and last AoE mezz...

46 Mind might not be necessary here from an RvR perspective as power is less of an issue but it offers very good control...I am just worried that small men performance will suffer.

Are most people stopping at 36 Mind?

36 Mind / 40 Body here and loving it. Don't see the need for the last mezz/PoM in RvR. Str/Con would be nice but again, I'm fine with what I have.

How are resist rates with mez? Working as intended?

Also a valid question....I suppose you would have to compensate with MoF either way to bring either mezz to 50 or as close as possible

Not a playing a Sorc here but yeah you would need a bunch of MoFocus to bring your mez close to 50.

In a real 8 man I definitely feel that you should be running minimum 1x 44+ mind sorc, the red mezz is just superior to whatever you get from body, and I am not talking only about duration or resist rate but that extra 50 radius is amazing. If you're running 2x sorcs then one of them can obviously be split or body but overall I think mind is just superior and rather than bringing that body sorc you might as well just pick up a cabalist instead.

For solo and/or small man it's a bit different, there I could definitely see either split or even body being superior.

I think that if you have a Spirit Cabby to debuff you could still to good damage with high mind just using the baseline LT.

Dont forget about the Mezz duration reduction on 45 mind. Its basically "free" Det 9.

You wont get an AoE root though, but single root is good enough in most cases (maybe not vs zergs).
