Slow or fast weapons on a Scout (or other classes)

I guess this kinda relates to all classes, but what weapon speeds a people rocking these days? Fast, medium or slow?

I went with a 3.9 speed thruster on my scout. I'm wondering if that's too slow or if it's spot on, since you still want as slow as possible?

You want the slowest weapon possible that swings at fastest speed allowed after maxed stats and buffing

The goal is max damage at games fastest allowed swing speed
