in Albion
Necro can use heal pot, heals shade.

Necro can use rep pots, in shade form.

Power pots, gives power in shade form.

As intended or bug?

How about it?

necro can use instant 331 staff dd in shade form.

Better fix that one.

I really hope Necros are going to be able to use Potions, and use them correctly.

They're one of those Alb classes that I hope (through minor tweaks) can become RvR-viable, along with the Friar and Paladin.

I'm fine with whatever decision is made but I do want to know what the decision is going to be.

I want a balanced realm, although to be honest pvp is always a bit of rock/paper/scissors.

Necro's are RvR-viable, just not in group. 1 v 1 most classes wouldn't dare jump them. They're actually broken beyond belief in RvR.

I was lovecraft, deleted him, don't plan on going alb on live.

That being said were u the reaver I was testing pets with in cs?

Stun can kill but honestly at range, with pots, purge, etc, whatever.

I would have no fear of any non caster. With purge and heal pots, all day long killing assassins.

RVR solo is a bit of rock paper scissors, but vs casters u cast the long snare and run away.

After purge avoidance of magic or whatever.

I'll start off by saying I've mained a Necro for many years, so feel free to point out any bias in this.

I don't mind Necros being able to use heal pots towards their pet. Yes in 1.65 Necros could not heal their pets with potions, it wasn't until TOA that any items were implemented that gave access to "niche" items to do things like this. Disease still cuts it in half and it shares a potion timer like everything else so there is no advantage gained over other classes, outside of other Pet Casters who may want the ability to heal their pet with a potion in which I would be fine with and actually suggest.

There is a 331DD staff available to everyone on Albion, I cant speak for other realms on this. Shares charge timers like everything else so I do not see any real advantage here. With the start of Shrouded Isles Necros were allowed to use this, but with the coding on live if you DD'd a mob in shade form it would follow you forever allowing you to kill mobs without any threat. This is the reason charges were removed from Shade usability until they could fix this issue. In TOA "most" mobs behaviors had been fixed to not aggro the shade and offensive charges were usable in shade form, this bug is not an issue on Phoenix as the mobs will not aggro you but simply stand and regen.

If charge usage is being seen as an issue then I believe to /use an item it should be required to be in an equipped position (this would apply to all classes) with the use timer being reset upon moving the item. Being equipped was a requirement for a majority of items on the live server to prevent someone from running around with a bag full of charges that they didnt have to template for. If someone is willing to template in a mediocre item simply for the /use then I am all for them using it.

I thought to use a charge on an item you had to equip it...I know in Hibernia I did have to on my Ranger to use the Dex/Qui charge on the Pooka Lord Mantle.

It is hit or miss. Some items are usable from inventory some aren't. Some items reset their charge timer on equipping some dont.

Thanks, Spryte.
I always considered you one of the best necros, at least on live gareth don't recall any other rr 10s.

Course you also had a bot.

However it is decided I think it needs to be decided prior to end of beta.

Thank you, the compliment is appreciated.

I will never self claim to be 1 of the best but I will say I have played the class in more roles than most and understand how and why it behaves in the ways it does.

For the topic of this thread I dont see anything that deserves a nerf. However if there were actual topics for class balance I do feel some changes should be made to the class (both in favor and against the Necro).

P.S. No bot was ever used in the RvR on Gareth, that was all champion buffs/potions/charges (granted most didnt realize some charges were available due to being old items)... though (shameless self-plug) on my Ywain video you can see how ridiculous they were with a bot since I /rp off at RR1 L 1 and still mauled multiples.

I know Necros were THE PvE farming toon, but that was usually with a bot...I remember pulling entire camps in AC and never breaking a sweat lol. How do you get your pet near that level of God mode without a bot? IIRC the way it worked was conc buffs added ABS to your pet, which is what made them so hard to kill.

I don't see why necro shouldn't be allowed a staff DD, other casters can.

well, hib casters can own necros (blue con pet) with a simple quickcast stun, nuke, nuke, nuke and dead. Since the pet for all intents and purposes IS the necro, I'd love for the pet to be yellow con to 50. Other pet classes arent taken to 5 hp when their pet dies.

I have rethought my opinions on both the staff instant and pots healing pet. Both are fine, imo.

Not only does str/con debuff really hurt necro since it is treated as a mob.

Also, the pet is both lower level and also treated as a mob so necro spell resists, chance to outright resist, suck.

And necro is vulnerable to every form of cc as well as every stun nuke and everything else.
