Necro w/Pots vs wo/pots...

How much do the pots affect the toughness of the pet against melee enemies.
I usually run out without pots and rarely survive against ns or sb. It doesn’t help that I usually have to live through stun and/or poisons as my RA setup is for pve and doesn’t include purge.

But is the toughness anything like on live where if you had full buffbot buffs you were almost impossible to take down?

I’m not sure what is best attack .
I usually insta debuff con then start casting both life taps
Using FP then reset FP with concentration and continue

Buffs on you have zero effect on the servant, only your base stats and template stats have an effect.

Pets in general are effected by these buffs:

Con = damage mitigation
Str = physical damage mitigation (low compared to con) + melee damage dealt
Dex = magical damage mitigation (low compared to con) + casting speed
Qui = melee swing speed
Haste = melee swing speed
Base AF = physical damage mitigation
Spec AF = no effect
Acuity = no effect (stands for int/emp/pie/cha)

In general: Pets do not gain hit points from buffs, but their damage mitigation/absorb is increased.

Necro-specific
In addition to above pet rules, Necro pets receive additional bonuses based on the casters items used at the time of summon.
Only stats from items do transfer to the pet, no buffs and no + starting stats!
The following stat bonuses will transfer:

+con = increase HP
+HP = increase HP
+qui = increase melee swing speed
+dex = increase cast speed
+primary resists = 100% transfer to pet

Alright, did some internal testing and the actual transfers are nowhere close to "classic like".
Ready?

Right now, the following stats will transfer to the pet:

On Summon (from items)
Strength
Dexterity
Quickness
HP
Resists

They transfer by 100%; so +75 dex from items, will give the pet +75 dex.

After summon
RAs that increase stats (augmented strength for example) - 100% transfer.

Additional Information
Buffs on the necro prior to summon, do not transfer.
Buffs on the pet after summon work as mentioned.
Intelligence on the Necro (from items, RAs and buffs) while in shade form do increase all magic damage dealt.

Pet specifics
All pets share the same base stats and resists, based on it's level.
Necroservant (1-20): Slash
Greater Necroservant (32): Crush
Abomination (45): Slash, slight increased parry change, chance to proc cold DD

I'll try to figure out if that is intentional, because constitution for example does not transfer at any point.

My perfs on abominations hit for 300 or a bit less with 45+16 CS on my SB... I can't kill them unless they are fighting a purple mob, RR2, or have no idea what they're doing. Once the lifetap starts, my anytime styles can't keep up. Edit - and the damage shield that does roughly as much damage as my anytime styles

I don’t know what I’m doing wrong then
I have been missed with the per(no purge for me)
But immediately debuff con and FP 3 times LT along with shade cast lt spam
Then conc and reset FP
Still usually die

Depending on the RR and toys of the stealther you are gonna have a tough time, most stealthers that decide to tango with a Necro are normally going to out rank you by quite a bit.

I recommend you readjust your strat to the following, As soon as you get perfed use Conc debuffs(try to get them off before the stun) then after the stun, your HoT and 1 shade life tap( they'll activate as soon as the perf wears off) if need be pop your legion+healpot.

as soon as you start to FP lifetap, cast 1 more HoT after about 7 seconds then back to shade taps.

Get purge, and have your purge ready depending on the RR of the stealther they are going to jack you up, there are some SB/NS that I purge on instantly cuz they hurt (you know who you are). Though some are wise, and will burn your purge and vanish. then come after you again, at that point just gotta mannnn up.
