Leveling a solo infy.....excruciating!

High fumble rate. Lots of misses.
Took 4+hours to get to 14! Other classes are a fraction of that.
I die to orange mobs way too frequently.
And the pierce drops are rare...all drops are few. So at 14 I have blue weapons and shit gear.
Is this just how it is?

Easy solution is to invite a healer type and duo, as it's much safer.

Otherwise, invest in some gear, see if there are any rogs your level on the market, or find a crafter to fill in any major gaps in your gear.

Also, pots will make a significant difference. Pick up some endo, deftness, and might pots and you'll see a huge spike in dps and survivability.

You're playing one of the most gear dependent classes in the game and trying to solo with it. This is DAOC on hard mode, it's gonna be a rough road alone.

Cap stats, spec full CS and poison. Garotte and evadechain your way to 50. Some suiciding in emain post L35 may be required.

level a necro first
get 2x all xp items
get drops
get plat
make potions and buffs for inf to level or pay for someone to level it

you'll need the necro later anyway for pve and might even like it in rvr

Send me a DM. I’m often out farming on my cabby and happy to take the ungropable classes along for some easy exp if they are struggling. Just if our play times line up. Your real challenge will be templating at 50 without a farming toon so you may want to consider levelling something else up too.

All i invested into my Infi was about 100g at level 1 for jewelry to get stats capped throughout most of leveling. Took me 23 hours played to get to 50, completely solo.
Dont bother with poison. Go full dw and weapon.

I recently leveled an inf, 100% solo with no prep. The low levels were pretty painful. Up to 20 it was as slow as soloing a cleric; yes that bad. I recommend the poison route for those levels.

By mid-20s with evade 4 you start to come into your own. By 30, at the latest with evade 5, drop poison completely and go full melee damage. Garote, beartooth, hamstring & leaper will mow mobs down; no point waiting for poison cooldown. Go full CS, composite thrust to level, rest in DW (which is close to max).

Rely on lifesteal weapons & lifesteal/heal armor whenever possible (keep the blue armor when upgrades come without those procs; get rid of green gear).

It was worth spending your money on combined forces elixir before the recent change (I leveled before the change happened). By 30 you should have no problems affording it & with the changes (better haste & AF & more stats) you will feel strong.

a xbow and some bolts is nice to have too so you can pull mobs to you

Im only 30 and i retemplated at 20 for Thid, i thought i was gonna cap out but it got old killing ppl for 20-30 rps when cap was 61K.

Post lvl 18, 25 and 29 was where i felt most upgrade
18 you get Garrote, good growth rate style
25 you get Achiles heel, haste debuffin
29 you get follow up to your Hamstring (evade chain)

I second the crossbow and bolts, end regen pots. i been useing buff pots and i will give combine forces a go since i dinged 30 last night as im already lgm on another char so i make them for cost.
I also think poison route pre 20 is smart
Annoying so far is the exp turn in in BG is inside the CK so you gotta be lucky to turn items in.

From now i think it will be easy sailing until 39 and i will do a CV break if there is any action.
