Brothers and Sisters in arms,
I just wanted to take a quick moment to give a heartfelt thanks to everyone that came out to help support the repatriation of Caer Sursbrooke last night. After a few wipes, we were finally able to take the keep with a party of six very patient Albs.
I know that this is just beta, and taking and defending keeps is a poor way to earn those coveted RPs, but I believe that it hurts Albion morale to log in and see that half or more of our keeps are in enemy hands. I'm proud to play in Albion and I know it hurts me to see so many of our own keeps unclaimed and ripe for the plucking by the Hibernian day-shift. I really don't want to preach or beg people to go out and join the realm war, especially when beta time is a time for testing and for deciding where one wants to play come release, but I think we hurt our long-term prospects of cohesion and community when we ignore the strategic battles in favor of the glory and bragging rights that come with small-man and 8-man engagements.
I hope no one thinks I'm complaining about the small group game; a lot of people play exclusively for this style of game, and that is great! We need these kinds of players in Albion, just as we need soloists, duos, RvR guilds, PvE dungeon raiders, crafters, RP-ers, carebears, realm-war crusaders, etc. to make a strong, healthy realm.
Once again, thanks to everyone who logs in play here on Phoenix and to Arthur's chosen who play on Albion! A very special thank you to those selfless players that answer the call every day and do the thankless job of cleaning the vermin from our frontiers. You are the brightest stars in Albion!
For Phoenix! For Arthur! For Albion!
