Given that the rog drops are class specific would it be better to use a scout for farming salvageable drops (DF aside which necro would be best at ofc)?

I’ve been thinking about trying to “abuse” this mechanic too, but I’m pretty sure the pure speed at which a necro can kill still makes them way better one world drops are in. Plus the RoGs stop dropping at 45, so the scout will eventually become significantly worse.

Then you’re stuck with a 45+ scout instead of a necro.

Ah, thanks for the reply, I didn't realise that the rog drops stopped at 45.
Necro it is then!

Where is it stated that ROGs stop dropping at 45? That’s news to me.

I can’t find it at the moment, but I remember reading it in a post about high end bosses dropping high utility RoG items.

Also this quote from a dev: “Due to the farming class affecting what drops all rogs are equal in terms of sell and salvage value.”

I took this to mean that cloth ROG items will sell to a merchant for the same as chain/studded items. That way farming with a caster will be as effective as farming with a chain/studded wearer.

Ok I found the quote— under the feathers thread in the tavern subforum:

"Normal" ROG items will be capped at lvl 45; endgame bosses will drop special ROGs with very high utility. And of course their normal loot, which will have certain features not available from ROGs (like certain weapon speeds/effects and similar).

The RoGs stop dropping on level 45 mobs, not when you get level 45 so /xp off wouldnt do much to help, you could find level 44 mobs at level 50 and farm those i believe.

Also you get level 51 RoGs from level 50 mobs just not as much
