There are many different types of active RVR on this server from BG, group, small, 1v1 etc.. I mainly focus on playing BG and imo BG action dominates this server (other opinions are available).
I don’t think there is a population problem, people will move realms as they want or more importantly for the type of RVR they want/find fun.
I do think there is a problem with the imbalance of types of RVR being played on different realms. Hib is dominating as the main focus of RVR is BG action. I believe Alb and Mid need some encouragement to work together which is where my suggestion comes in.
The idea is a chant called “We Stand As One” produced by the BG leader. The chant radius should be the same or similar to the area of a keep so only active BG players receive the buff and stay with the BG leader. The buff should be a RP bonus. The BG leader has no control of the chant, it is activated once conditions are met.
Conditions should include:
• BG must be open (avoiding private BGs trying to take advantage)
• BG should contain X number of people (can’t be too low to avoid lots of small open BGs, maybe over 30?)
With it being a chant it means you can’t join the BG get the buff and leave and if the conditions are no longer met it might also not refresh.
As population isn’t the focus, I don’t think the under population bonus should be used for the RP bonus chant. It might be better to link it to relics:
• 0% if you have both home relics
• 50% if you have one home relic
• 100% if you have zero home relics
The bonus might seem high but this is potentially the encouragement needed for some great 3 way fights. If realms start to avoid taking relics then maybe the bonus can just be set by the GMs and reviewed over a period of time.
Other types of RVR should not be effected with this change and can continue as normal.
