Sharing out loot after a raid is a big hassle for everyone.
This could be helped by a summonable public vault npc, i.e. a vault that is read-only for everyone except the owner. It would be like a CM but fully read-only.
It could be restricted in some way if it is felt to be overpowered in other situations. For example, it could be once-use and drop from high level content. Alternatively, it could expire if removed from the zone.
Making it actually access the raid leader's CM would be safer relative to item loss but means raid leaders have to save space on their CM.
The raid leader could place all the items on the vault. This saves delving into the battlegroup chat.
When a players asks for an item the raid leader simply takes it from the vault and gives it to the player.
The player could say where it is roughly too. This would help the raid leader even more.
Another tweak would be to allow the leader to click on a player and allow them to "take one" from the vault.
This means that people can see if items that they want are gone.
If the distance limit was reasonably long, it wouldn't even cause crowding around the npc.
