Stealthers cap percentage in RvR

Alright so that has been several days I kept track on the percentage of stealthers on the server at anytime during the day. The percentage has a range of 15% to 31% ! And I am very KIND because I keep in the calculations all the Necros and Animists that are mostly used for PVE farm. If you remove these it is easily 30+% of the population at ANY time in RvR.
I would like to propose a hard stealther class cap (excluding minstrels ofc) to 5% maximum. Right now the RvR is not very active for the simple reason that 30% of the RvR population is stealthed and not helping to provide content.

How about we cap the class you want to play? How can you cap classes in a game that people enjoy playing. That’s not very fair.

You forget that stealthers are not a regular class and they dont fit in the Mass-RVR content. They are designed for solo content in a MMO game...

The best part about people bitching about stealthers (not saying you specifically) Is that they are also the ones who roll over the solo visis without impunity , which in consequence, for what i assume to be a big percentage, roll stealthers to avoid that kind of thing.

Its a circle that will never break, to much disrespect among the fellow players . " Oh we kill solos because they add gvg." "Oh we add GVG because they kill solos." "This isnt a 1v1 game its a mmo." "If you want arena go play MK." "Red is dead . " Ive heard it all.

But the only reason i say that is, because people bitch about stealther count. Well, theres your answer.

I didn't say delete stealthers. I said delete stealth. They'll just have to play in a different capacity.

You knew stealth was in the game when you started . Those classes had it. Why should they have a core mechanic of there class removed......

Capping or deleting a class is not a solution. The solution would be give these players a good option to roll a class that can play in a group but at the moment Daoc is not offering so many more options so it is quite hard. For "normal" class you have three options at the moment :

- Zerg with keep fighting
- 8vs8
- Smallmen (or solo)

- The first is quite boring for many (but it is liked by many others too since in the evening there are a lot of zerg roaming especially on Alb and Hib side)
- 8vs8 (that is my favourite) has an entry point very high in this server. A lot of groups are very organized and very high rank so fighting them is quite not funny and some players decide to leave the game or this gameplay after that they are defeated regularly with their 3L0/5L0 toons.
- Smallmen (and solo) is fun too but it is quite impossible to do it in EU prime time with zerg and groups roaming. It is quite hard finding other smallmen and have fun.

So maybe some people that is not enjoy the zerg but can't fit in the other two options decides then to roll a stealther just to be able to play. And I understand them.

A solution would be a BG that a lvl 50 player can enjoy untill 5L0/6L0 so that the gap against 9L0/11L0 groups is lower but then the population would split in two different game and I'm sure other complains will be written here. There is not an easy fix.

I have 10 lvl 50, and a ranger and a NS. All the other class except my animist are classes I play in PuG groups prime time.
Having other toons to play in group is not the solution, because a lot of people already do.

lets delete all heal classes, they are played too much... hell every grp has at least 2 healers and often even more!

Let me state first that i don't think removing stealth or stealthers from the game is a good or reasonable idea but that comparison imo works against that position since it is quite easy to make a case how healers improve the game-fun for more people than it decreases the fun. While stealthers mostly increase the fun for the stealther player but mostly not for everyone else.
Basically by trying to make the comparison the claim becomes "stealthers are just as important to a good game as healers are", that makes it more likely for someone to disagree with you and take an opposing stance regarding the position than if the discussion had just stayed on the topic of "are stealthers in general a detriment to the game/server or not"

ok if you go that route... what about enemy healers? do they improve the game fun? what about enemies in general, do they improve the game fun? lets say the enemy zerg is rolling over you, it that fun? lets delete all enemies too!
if stealthers are not usefull in rvr, why were there tons of archer cry threads over the last month claiming that assisting/volleying archers turn the tides in zerg battles?
you will always find someone who does not like a class in a specific setup, but is that enough to delete classes? what about the ppl who enjoy playing these classes?
lets cut down to healer, tank and dps classes .... every realm only has those 3 classes, how much fun is that? the reason why daoc is such a great game is the high variety of classes.

i just wanted to point out what kind of stupid discussion that is.
assassin/thief/bow classes have always been part of role play games. deal with it.

how so?

it includes PVE-chars and levelers, while /u gives you lvl50 stealther population in the frontier VS overall lvl50 population in the frontier
