Stealth detection

Currently assassins can see archers at 250 and archers can see assassins at 125... I've had at least comp 50 stealth on my Ranger since I hit level 50 (Currently comp 52 because I spec 35 stealth for the MoS movement speed) and I have never once seen a stealthed assassin so either something is broken or you may as well say that archers see assassins at 0 range...

Maybe make it so that assassins keep their see archers at 250 range, but make it so that archers see assassins at 200, or at least 175 even, because like I said, as it's working right now we archers don't see stealthed assassins EVER.

So we always wind up perfed or backstabbed with 0 chance to turn our bodies to the side or swing first with a quick melee attack to knock the assassin out of stealth to prevent a PA or BS. The downside to not changing this means that archers stand 0 chance against any GOOD assassin without IP up which is on a 30 minute timer. So if it stays as it is now you're gonna see archers hiding out and waiting for their IP to come back so they don't lose versus assassins in 95% of random encounters. Give archers a CHANCE to see assassins before getting perfed and we'll see more fun fights where it doesn't come down to a timer being up or down.

Wtb camouflage.

I'd be fine with a return of see hidden for assassin's and camo for archers as long as camo was on a 5 minute reuse timer. Then let us buy the True Sight RA so we can get a free kill off the stealth zerg at AMG every 30 minutes which would discourage the camping.

According to the code-snippet I've seen there is a small additional bonus range of 25 units (so 175 units detection total) which is doubled for assassins (so 350 units detection) on Phoenix.

I kinda felt the bonus detection of 25 might be too low with the increased MoStealth speed ; but be careful what you wish for, as the bonus is currently doubled for assassins (due to Detect Hidden) so if you ask for 100 units of extra detection (150 + 100 = 250 range) the assassin will see you at that x2 = 500 range.

Then so be it as long as I have a chance to see them and react before they hit me.

Easy fix to this, Spec Stealth Should give more then Comp stealth.

Stealth Comp is what has always set high RR stealthers Apart from low RR stealthers. being you can drop a spec point every time your realm level dings. thus giving you more points to spec melee/shield/bow or whatever your flavor.

if I decide to go 50 stealth spec. I should have some kind of advantage vs someone with 33+17 stealth. its pretty simple really. And don't say Stealth Run speed. because that's just flat out nonsense.

I would spend the points to spec more stealth if it meant that I could detect others better and be harder to find. We archers are just assassin food now when our IP is down and that's not right. A player shouldn't need to spend 24 points to get an RA that's on a 30 minute RUT to achieve balance...

Camo negated See Hidden and they took away See Hidden so camo wouldn't do us any good I guess... I just want some sort of balance between archers and assassins like we had on Gareth when it first opened...

Assassins were seeing me from a mile away today and there was always more than one of them... I'm gonna have to start playing a visible and grouping, the solo stealth game is dead now, completely unplayable 😑

I have retired my scout for this reason. I accept that its not a melee class and that if caught we shouldnt win a melee battle, but at this stage even at rr5 with temped armor, usually I am dead before the stun wears off. If I purge my slam is almost always evaded.

Camo was a way of at least giving you reaction time if you were standing still.

Our slam might still have been evaded, but you felt as if you had a chance to get them and run away if nothing else.

At the moment, its extremely difficult to even get to a mile gate stealthed without getting a perf to the face.

The only thing that stealth is good for on Archers is Safefall. It's why I've specced 10 stealth on my test Ranger and put all of the points in more useful skill lines.
