Looking at the three main healers in this game and comparing the third specs of Pacification, Nature and Smite it's kind of obvious that the Cleric comes out last.
Not only is Albion the only realm where the mainstream group consists not of 3 but 2 healing classes (I can count the numbers who run friar on my thumbs), they are also the only realm where the main healing classes are only investing into 2 of their lines.
I'm not entirely sure how to fix this issue but will still post some suggestions
1. Make smite nukes 1500 range
I see little to no reason that Smite should be 1350 range
2. Make PBAE mezz scale better as it levels higher
Even at 44 smite the PBAE mezz is 200 radius, 30 seconds and 5 minute cooldown. All these values could be looked at and balanced.
3. Add something unique to the fray
I would like to see something really unique that makes the line viable even as a support player, one really cool thing would be a channeling single target shield that provides damage reduction and/or damage return to enemies. Let's say 10/20/30/40/50% damage returned from the player who gets shielded, this would make a Clerics role so much more fun to play and could also open up for a friar to play as a 3rd healer.
