Sidekick System

Context:
No matter what you do, DAoC can be a pain if you want to level in group but have not managed to find people who have a similar schedule to yours.
Either you will outlevel them and your groups will not want to drag the lowbies or you will be lower and useless or whatever circumstance that have you /lfg without luck for an hour. And of course, solo is not your thing (otherwise why are you reading this?)

Proposed solution:
Introduce a command /sidekick CharacterName

Description:
The command will grant you the SKLevel == levelOf(CharacterName) - x [where x can be either a percentage of the levelOf(CharacterName) or a tuneable parameter].

In effect, it would grant your existing spells a boost as if they had SKLevel instead of your real level (essentially it would boost the heals or damages of a certain amount to restrain the gap of levels and spell efficiency so that Joey level 15 can still play with Monica & Phoebe [Oh come on, a man got to dream!] despite they are level 33 & 35 and still do some damage or correct heals).

Possible Downside:
Some people will never make new friends

This should never be implemented to work in any RvR zone. I can already see the armies of 1 lvl 50 and 7 lvl 1 (but now 50 - x) swarming over everything.

As for PvE, I think this system will really only help "sidekick" support types (heals, buffs, PoM). DPS need to be the higher level group members so that they can hit mobs for decent damage, and to hit at all. Low-lvl tanks are also annoying, as too many misses results in them losing aggro. Support already have an easy time finding groups, even if they're 5-10 levels lower than the highest person, and this system will make it even easier.

Overall, I'm not in favor of this idea. Groups are plentiful, and will be even more so when live starts. For even more groups, join a guild. Or, do what I do, and tell your friends (that out-leveled you) that you want to make an "only when we're all on" set of toons, so they will all level at the same rate.

Being somewhat social and finding/building appropriate groups is a core part of DAOC, and I don't know if we should mess with that in this way.
