Show realm switch timer on Phoenix launcher

Hi!
People continue to ask this question, so it seems that a simple solution might be possible. Druth on the forums made this observation:
Go into your daoc folder where your UI settings are kept.
Each char has a date stamp, your last stamp was when you logged out last time
Add 12 H to that and... you have your answer
Since the launcher runs client-side, it could easily iterate the ini files in this directory and pick the last-used one and then compare file-time with the current system time and show an estimate of how much time is left on server-side switch timer. Of course, it would only be an estimate since the files could be modified client-side by other processes (Loki, for example for creating crafting toolbars), but at least it will give the player an idea of how long they need to wait before they can switch. It should be pretty low-cost to implement and it wouldn't involve making a remote call to the server.

Or we could just remove or shorten it to get rid of the issue entirely

I appreciate the feedback, but this is not the thread to suggest changes to the timer. There is already a lengthy thread in which to post suggestions about that. This is a thread for suggesting how the remaining time on the timer can be presented to the user.

Thanks!
