remove/nerf focus-pulling

as much as i enjoy the quick xp and easy lvling through this method, i feel like it hurts the pve/lvling aspect of the game alot.
when pets are better tanks than the actual classes designed for it, theres something wrong to me. it makes certain characters obsolete in pve too.
pallies for example arent even wanted for pve anymore aside from raids of high level encounters maybe.
if every "good" xp(feather-)group consists of just a petclass with focus shield, a buffer, some aoe and a bunch of healers thats not what the developers back then had in mind i would think. because its so much easier/better than "regular" xp-groups of course the vast majority are focus-groups.
i imagine this might lead to more different classes/people finding groups. to make sure of that, maybe increase the "diversity"-bonus for each individual class in a grp by a bit. one could also apply this bonus not only to xp but feathers too. now that i think of it, what about doing this for rps aswell...
to nerf pets tankyness, maybe reduce the absorb increase they receive from every buff they get. and/or let the focus-shield generate way less aggro

I strongly disagree in the aspect of the intent of the developers.

On the live servers pets always were the best tanks for some bosses and xping.

And concerning the social aspect of lvling, i dont think it matters if you make a caracter as first toon, that fits the meta. As long as evrybody can figure out what the meta is. And dont worry. Starter guild and forum will tell you if you dare to ask.

I think you will see less focus pulling when the server goes live. Right now everyone has unlimited respecs for free so they switch to what they need. At launch these groups won't function as well since there won't be an abundance of the specs that are needed.

I don't see a need to nerf focus pulling since its only real use previously was high level mobs and thats been customized here to allow tank groups to do it just as easy if not easier.

thats a good point kaziera, the devs not changing anything about it on live leads to the impression that its just the way they want it to be. still i think its a very odd concept of pveing and i could see a change having a positiv impact on grouping. as it is right now, "/challenge"-mode is kind of a joke when using a fully buffed pet and a decent amount (level) of supports.
maybe woodspryte, could also very well be that most people will go full pve mode (spec) first to set themselves up. also theres the respecs for feathers, 2k per atm iirc. will definitely be alot harder/more expensive to respec but still possible if you really want to. im very happy about that customization of high level encounters btw. always thought its hella stupid that lets say a cab and cleric could farm parts of sidi for example

You have to want to level a SM Summoning. It is useless in RvR, the only thing you got is a very strong pet and access to a slightly higher PvE strength.
Let the people who enjoy it have their fun. Not everything needs a nerf and it is pretty unlikely that many SMs will go this path when Phoenix goes live (but the ones who do will want the fun out of it - otherwise the whole summoning spec need to be modified).

The difference between focus-pulling and non-focus groups XP revenue is less here than other servers, but still quite large. Having more significant camp XP would help, as well as increasing the bonus per class (currently it's 5%).

However, I don't think removing focus pulls makes sense in any world. It's a perfectly fine mechanic, leave it be.

Focus pulling is one of the most enjoyable PvE group setups, at least when i'm playing the focus puller class

It's a PVE leveling strategy in an RVR game who's PVE is old and tired. Not only should it stay, more efficient leveling strategies should be buffed to get through the old and tired PVE experience.
