Realm Quest Revamp - 3 concurrent realm quests

After this last up date, the idea of wanting to spread the action out finally made me type this idea up. Basic premise is that the quests are split up and spread around the realm based on common play styles. This is a rough outline, and I'm sure others could add more.

-Same idea of one hour timer, with ticks every 15 min.
-Each tick (aka every 15 min), you only get one base credit, regardless of how many zones you participated in, but can earn the additional "participation" rps etc for all 3.

Quests would progress in the following order:


Scout _____ Realm
-Task for killing people while grouped with 3 or less people (aka max group size of 4)
-Task for killing people solo
-Task for the turn in items to supply master

Infiltrate ______ Realm
-Task for killing people when only your group contributes to kill
-Task for killing caravans
-Task for killing realm guard

Invade ______ Realm
-Task for killing people with no restrictions
-Task for taking/defending/controlling keeps within that realm
-Task for claiming points like the current domination
-Boss mob active in the realm


Basically each hour, the Invade realm would become the scout realm, the scout realm would become the infiltrate realm, and the infiltrate realm becomes the invade realm... kind of sticks to a stead escalation of hostilities too. Would allow for some of the spreading out of people based on play style, while still making it so no one realm becomes "the realm" to rvr in.


Like I said, very rough outline, but open to thoughts

I actually had a similar idea regarding the tasks for smaller groups (max of 4), I think your suggestion is actually quite good. It would open up the battlefield for more types of players as one wouldn't be forced to zerg all day but still could do so if one likes the playstyle.

I think given the population this could bring some variety to the battlefield which would make it more fun in the end.

I also think tasks have to be broad and not too specific. That's why I like "solo kills" or "caravan kills" and so on. The very early task system directed the flow of RvR too much in my opinion. Instead of "raid keep X" just have a "raid whatever" task.

On top of that I would remove or at least lower the participation rewards, like seriously this isn't some first grader contest where everybody wins so they don't have to be sad. That again is why I like kill/raid tasks, they have a goal that has to be reached other than "yeah I die and collect my participation trophy". I literally have chars that get rps and still don't have a single kill in /title, I even thought about a challenge for myself to get to RRX without kills (which is ridiculous).

So yeah, I like your suggestions and think they could provide a better foundation for the longer RvR experience.
