It seems that after doing a dozen or so raids of all types, there is a noticeable problem with the loot for the realm dragons.
From a Sidi raid, you can get anywhere from 10k-18k feathers, usually averaging about 12k. Most people don't get loot, but for about 90-120 mins of work, the reward seems to be worth it. Hence why raids typically happen daily and house on average of 200 people.
Sidi back on live left most people without loot. A lot of the times very small Sidi raids were organized to get those valuable drops, and even then it was all just based on luck. Large sidi raids weren't really a thing like they are on Phoenix.
The realm dragon back on live was pretty great. I organized 40-man raids on a daily basis and everyone happily got their needed respec stones. I wanted to do the same on this server, but I started to think about it more and did some basic math and concluded that there is no real point in doing the realm dragon (other than maybe remains and credit). Even with a small organized raid of 40-50 people, you're spending about 2/3 the time of a Sidi raid, and getting about 1/4 the loot.
Sidi raid
200 people (average)
90-120 mins
about 12k feathers
Dragon raid
40-50 people (best case scenario)
60-90 mins
1 resepec stone + about 800 feathers
A full respec is currently 5k feathers, while a realm respec is 3k feathers.
So if you needed a respec stone, you could go on a well-crafted dragon raid and get a full respec or realm respec stone. OR you could go to a sidi raid, spend maybe an extra 30 minutes, but get 2-4 respec stones and do a LOT less work than being on an organized dragon raid.
It makes sense why the realm dragon in Albion has only been killed 18 times compared to Apoc's 130 deaths-- no one wants to waste their time with it (unless you need credit or really want remains).
I wouldn't dare suggest changing the feather drop in Sidi, as I do enjoy living. However, it is quite clear that the dragon loot needs some attention. With respec stones being so cheap, the dragon's main prize has become near-worthless. There are several things that can be done to the dragon's loot table, and honestly I don't care what it is, I just hope that one of the better PvE events in the game doesn't get wasted.
