Definately against it if "it helps Thidranki."
Boosting BG is very bad for the server.
Not true. Boosting BG would give more players something to do and create further avenues for PvP. It also helps truly new players (or long time returners) learn how to handle themselves in PvP.
You (erroneously) think this will detract from your 50 RvR, but trust me, we aren't playing it anyway
First, new players can't learn how to play pvp by playing in thid.
They can taste a sip of pvp, but they have to re-learn everything once they reach 50.
Rather making their char 50 as fast as possible and learning stuffs with BG zerg is far better.
Lots of ppl talk about rvr imbalance, rr gap, etc, but this is far worse in thid.
Imagine a new player(even without a purge) fighting against anytime-6sec-stun alb "thid specialist" who has full temp, full charge.
There is absolutely no point cuz 'new players' won't spend time templating their char unless they also want to become another 'thid specialist'.
Second, yes, I think boosting thid will detract from 50 RvR, but as opposite way.
You said you aren't playing 50 rvr, right? That's the exact problem i think about thid.
Every players on Phoenix interact with others and contribute to the server no matter what their goal is.
Even if some player don't want to rvr and just farm everyday, he/she is still affecting the server in terms of server economy.
I've seen some ppl say too many feather raids(such as sidi) is harming end-game rvr, but I don't agree with that,
because high portion of those players will come back to play rvr anyway. They will play pvp and pve, back and forth.
I have a similar thought on thid. If the player plays 50 rvr and thid back and forth, that wouldn't be a big problem.
The real problem is "Exclusive Thid players". It's like thid became an ultimate goal to them.
I have found some players like you who stays in Thid forever and never plans to come out to end-game rvr.
And should we help them and reward these players so that they can attract more exclusive thid specialists?
In my perspective, this is just like server population loss cuz this actually divides the population.
Of course, I'm not saying that dedicated Thid players are doing a bad thing.
Every player has right to enjoy this game in their own way.
If you have fun playing in thid, that's good.
But playing end-game rvr should be designed to give more fun to players.
And some penalty in balance or qol should definitely be needed compared to end-game rvr.
Help creating isolated leagues which divides server population is always bad for the server.
