Pets and line of sight

My post stems from my experience of Old Frontier keep defending and the frustration of having pets slowly mow you down when outnumbered. I feel it's really frustrating that people can afk with pet on defensive and actually be more useful than someone who is actively playing their class in a keep siege.

My suggestion is that the pet owner needs to have line of sight for the pet to hit/cast a spell on their target. This means that you as a pet user can't just mindlessly send your pet onto someone and then forget about it. This would improve chances for smaller groups of defenders to actually do some difference instead of just having 5+ pets running at them every time they AoE or CC a keep siege zerg.

Pets that have already started casting an ability would still finish the cast but they would not start a new cast unless the owner can see the enemy, melee pets would follow but no longer continue to hit unless their owner is in line of sight. Less frustration for those affected and more chances of outplaying a pet owner using line of sight. While I understand that this would be a huge nerf to pet users I think that it would be a good change overall since I generally think pets are annoying to say the least.

DIsagree. Pets should still be allowed to attack.
The biggest problem on this server is caby or chanter pets attacking you next to lord.. and you can't kill them because they are getting heals faster than you can damage them.

Pet heals need nerfing in RvR situations. If I am fighting some caby or chanter pet standing next to a keep lord, that pet should die almost instantly whether it gets heals or not.

I have seen melee classes unable to out damage the heals a pet gets while they are fighting them in the lord room and the pet's owner is outside in the courtyard.

don't pet-heals need LOS?
and spreadheals don'T heal them?
afaik only groupheals heal the pet also


IF (and that is an honest if, since i am not sure) above is correct, then there are healers emptying quite a lot of mana into the pet to heal it.

tldr: my pets are good but please nerf pets from others realm

Agree, this needs any solution.
AoE cast as as defender and get killed by 5 pets in the lordroom is simply frustrating and annoying.

That's more an issue with pets entering a closed keep, a known problem that was being worked on
Pet heals don't require LOS and there's nothing wrong with that either given if it gets spammed the caster eats up his own power pool in return for mediocre dps
