All pet have bigger heal point than their and if they are orange +, can rupt MOC .... Oh and, remove it too ..
Only Alb and hib ( sometimes ) can have pet orange + .

Did you mean that you want the SM pets to have more HIT points? Like more life so they are tougher to kill? On an intercepting pet that would be ridiculous.

However, reworking the SM pets to add a range dps option would be awesome. A pet selection closer to the enchanter than the 5 variations of the exact same pet the SM currently has. Don't need to make it as OP as it is on Live (with the warrior intercepting and doing mangle/paralyze), but a caster/archer option would be great.

menta : Pet that uses mana, that you must travel to get and you can't recast it when it's dead. Can't charm lvl 53/54 until 7/8L. I am 9L and I have 15% resist rate on the lowest bargheists.
It has its advantages but also downsides

You do realize that your pet intercept, giving you a free moc, and that you can QC the pet when it dies right?

There are always a Minstrel during a fight.. 1c1 or 8c8 and always with pet orange+. So MOC is useless..
Intercept it's not 100%, rumor says 75% on défensive mode.
But often, versus a stealh class, PA + stun combo works good. Sm's pet takes nothing. And HealPoint is ridiculous compared pet chanter. 3-4 shoot by melee and he's dead.
Before start update 2019, pet absorb 1/3 damage.

Sure he can stun / DD frost.. But soooo rarely..
And QC a free pet, it's loose 30%?? power pool.

Thanks god there is a downside to an intercept pet...
it's 75% intercept, but in fact, more often than not, it can make you cast 2/3 spells with good rng when you should have casted none vs a hero/bm/zerk etc...
Orange pet has a really low chance to rupt you during moc... it's not 100% chance.

Before start update 2019, pet absorb 1/3 damage.

Yes and it was broken. The intercept is supposed to make the user take more dmg.

Like intercept... Often not often, when it's an ellyl with cast...
Midgard is the only realm can't have pet orange +.
Sure hib it's rarely to see an empath with an orange pet.
So caster can take moc 5 versus Midgard, without fear to take a stupid rupt by an orange pet..

About, pet's SM, do you know the range to do intercept works? Think - 50 ranges. You sprint, pet doesn't take damage.
Stun it's the same range. DD too..

How many chance to resist snare pet chanter?? Or debuff DD..? And range to cast...

Yes and midgard is the only realm with the quad mechanic.
Mages in hib can't survive two/three people assisting with bows by themselves.
The two classes that can have OJ+ pets have a charm, not pets you can cast, so you have to get them and it's rare to have another one when they die in combat.
BM in hib is on an inferior table than zerk and mercs for damage. I can continue.

Realms in DAOC are not mirrors from each others.

It's a suggestion topic to change paper PET spirimaster :/ .. Not change all mechanic.

That's just noise.

And albs can and do use red/purple pets (fins) They aren't going to fix that because mincers are albs speed class or something or other.
