New keep take stuff maybe needs to be tweaked...

I'm all about keep takes and defense. It was always one of my fav parts of DaoC. However it seems like the current system facilitates "takes" but there is not much if any "defense".

Maybe this is because of the players and lack of communication but I think it is more because the normal keep take force with rams can take a keep so fast that even guard spam was communicated you can't get there in time to defend. The only other options is to just camp a keep and hope/wait someone attacks.

I don't know what the answer is, but the system seems a little off ATM...IMHO

While i agree a bit there are often huge zergs taking a keep...what will they do after taking that Keep? Probably take another one.
You dont know which, but if you are prepared and waiting for attack messages you can get there pretty fast

Making keeps take even longer makes them less attractive and basically a zerg-only action. Porting into keeps that are being attacked seems lazy/too easy for defenders

As is now it's PvE for Rp and there is justw ay too much free RP for doing absolutely nothing; the % of RP, even for active folks, that actually comes from fighting is pathetically low....it's supposed to be a RvR game; should not THAT be the focus? Perhaps make it worthwhile to DEFEND, it's certainly fun but people are chasing tasks not fighting.

why should you defend keeps if you have to run like 5+ mins then find an empty keep and you search the next keep just to get zerged by 20+ people you would need to coordinate your own little zerg if you have to walk to those keeps thats just not worth it for most and keeps arent always taken in task zone so flag port isnt always available. And even if you would manage it the zerg rels and will take some other keep its just a goose chase without port or somekind of realmmap which shows which keep is sieged and those doors would need to stand for 20mins at least. Currently I see people using 3 rams on those doors, on live only 1 ram could target a keep door. Also the interior of all OF keeps is just no fun to fight in, you are just dead with a few good placed stunfields and maelstrom/twf and pbae toons. Actually we can be happy that keeps are underused or else it will be similar to old bridges with ladders where fg camp with their pbaes/di rdy and wait for the zerg to roll in rps. Then I rather prefer openfield fights.
