Right now, tasks can be fun, especially during low pop hours, but they're also pretty pointless in the grand scheme of the realm wars. In fact, they're sometimes even harmful to the realm wars as they can lead to people who are with a BG falling behind to get task credit on a flag or even lead to people running to another realm before joining a BG just to get task credit, regardless of what the BG is facing at the time. Hell, sometimes whole BGs ignore meaningful targets to go get task credit for everyone.
I would like to suggest a mechanism that might make domination tasks more meaningful:
I'm not sure if this is actually possible technically, and I certainly wouldn't want these to be guards that are strong enough to actually capture a keep or tower, but I think this would add a nice realm incentive to capture flags and would give small groups and solos a(nother) way to feel like they're helping in the war efforts. In fact, this could maybe make capturing keeps a more reasonably achievable goal for small BGs during low pop hours that are often relegated to capturing nothing larger than a tower.
To be clear, too, I don't mean that these realm guards would attack people at the flags, rather they would maybe be like neutral mobs to everyone until they actually get within range of a keep or tower.

- Controlling a flag causes realm guards from the controlling realm to spawn at the flag and head towards the nearest keep or tower to either reinforce it or attack it, depending on who currently controls said keep or tower.
