Hello everyone, I would like to know the interest of snapshot 40. The principle of snapshot 30 was well in the sense that one could test classes and Ra. But to make pop guys 40, 1L1, with no battleground, directly in Emain Macha, this will just serve to feed the big ranks of the realm and no test will be beneficial. I do not understand this step. You'll be able to see to set up a 40-44 zone with a max rank to allow the player to have fun and not get tired of banging on EMAIN.

Thanks alots .

There it is again. People obviously want that imperfect low level / low RR pvp. The problem are the maxxed out temped high RRs.

The imperfect , untemped, potentially <50 have to be a) incentivized to do RvR and b) protected from getting farmed wihout standing a chance, like discussed in multiple posts already.

ok , well , why instant 40 ? Give me only a reason .. A real reason positiv to do that .. I didnt see one ... Except for feed high rank in rvr .. & they are already start ...

So verdict ... HR whine for rvr , instant 40 for feed a little & just after instant 5L for extra feed .. HMM ... not aware with that .. sorry

Maybe to try out and do some more tests on the 40 - 50 phase ? Remember it is a beta phase still. And btw, try at least to use your brain.

Nothing wrong with instant 40.

Just need instant rr3

BTW, who cares about someone's epeen?

I50 should be next along with irr5

And fully capped gear.

Then all the epeen stroking in the world won't matter and we can test stuff.

This is a beta and we are going to test various aspects of the game, not just endgame RvR or battlegrounds. The i30 was quite interesting for us for a number of reasons (e.g. seeing biases in class distribution to identify balancing issues, for example). Before we move to i50, which essentially means all content 1-49 will be completely ignored moving forward, we want some more data on the progression from 40-50. This is not a "production/live" server, we are testing things - so please try to understand that we are not currently able to cater to individual play style preferences in how we progress with the development.

I'm trying to understand why the quick move to i40.

Does this mean all bugs from 1-39 have been fixed? Because from looking at the bug tracker and logging into the game I see hundreds of bugs (obvious ones too) still hanging around. I'm also concerned because at level 40 there isn't a big incentive to log in since you can't RvR at 40 (will get killed immediately by level 50s and no BG is available to make it somewhat balanced) and leveling at that level is approaching the slowest (worst) in Phoenix. I hope you aren't taking that class dispersion data very seriously you got for i30 because many people are just playing stuff they would never level and/or classes that are good at level 30 in the BG. I wouldn't think it will reflect very accurately what end game class dispersion will end up.

Well if i understand well , you create instant 40 for solve many problem & found bug but in rvr , we cant doing something because INSTANT 40 : 1L , its just useless .

@noodle , before speaking bad with : brain , go use yourself better .

Thanks . I jsut purpose to open another BG for test instant 40 & report many bug

Maybe they want to check quest and mobs from 40+? It's not only about RvR Bro! I'll miss BG action too.

Btw Galahad I don't think BGs are a good place to check class distribution. Some chars are OP at low level but well balanced once you hit lvl50.

There are 2 things that everyone seems to be missing in 90% of these forum posts.
1. This is beta.
2. RvR is not the only aspect of this game that needs testing.

40-50 is a big gap of time in leveling your character meaning there is a lot of value in testing this time frame. The purpose of beta is not to rack up realm points, it is to test the game so we can go to live. Also, PvE is a large part of this game. It may not be everybody's favorite part, but it is a necessary part that some people do enjoy. The fact that there is no BG for 40+ is probably a good thing for testing purposes. The problem with i30 was that everyone either stayed at level 30 or got to 34 and stopped so they can take part in cale, which I am sure gave a lot of good data, but I will refer you back to point #2 above. Finally, you are not required to i40, so if you do not like the idea, you do not have to do it.

My instant assumption after seeing i40 just days after i30 us that the GMs wanted people to level from 30 to 50 to test things.

They were not prepared for the sheer moronic non stop zerg feat that crippled every other aspect of the server and was counterproductive to testing.

So i40 jumps past the lolololmustzerg mindset of players and forces them into testing that things that need testing.

Been sick of reading everyone crying all day about no 40-44 bg like you've been robbed. Stop being so fucking entitled. 40-50 is not long in a group and even less time if you farm or buy so items. Got my inf 40-50 templated spellcrafed and procced etc. In a matter of hours today. And guess what? There's lots of BGs at 50. Or as we call it, RvR.

So many people are saying Phoenix is becoming worse and worse with the days. Why? Because you can't get instantly in to a BG and do /xp off and /rp off at 34 and never play any of the other content, that they intended us --the beta testers, to play? I hope everyone of you see the irony in it, because 500-600 people being stuck in Caledonia just zerg festing the F out of each other is not making the server become better.

You think they did not collect data from having a zerg fest in a small area with all type of classes, groups, small groups, solo, enjoyment and frustrated behaviours (leading to complaining about this or that bug) and so on?

It is a beta and there are phases. You think 90% of the people on the beta come to test or just to play? I'd place a safe bet that 75% of people have logged 1 bug or 0 (that is, after one bug, their duty is done and they can play or they just don't care because others will do the work) ...

Beta is also data gathering.

I can see how that data can be helpful, but don't look in to it too much. The majority of people in Caledonia made classes that do well in BGs, like speed classes, AoE Dotters, Bolters etc. I'm sure you've considered this, just throwing it out there.

I think the important thing is to see which classes were barely played rather than those that were played the most. It seemed to me that those classes were: Paladin, Warden, Friar, Champion, Hunter. To a lesser extent: Thane, Reaver, SM, Warrior.

Obviously a few of those classes are on the short list of ones that really need to be looked at for potential changes to make them competitive. On the flip side it was pretty easy to see based off of population which classes can do just fine in a zerg environment, and I think that is an environment the devs are hoping to cultivate with Keep Siege and RW map changes.
