How to promote RvR - WAR ideas

Hi all, I'm a new daoc player that come from Warhammer online ( freeshard Return of Reckoning). I decided to try daoc because the community in WAR has a ton of former daoc players that told me daoc has awesome pvp.

I'm now lv29 and even though is a small sample size to judge the game , talking to people here I come to some conclusions that both WAR and daoc (developed by the same company) suffer from the same issues and that is pvp games require people and a healthy and balanced RvR. My initial observation of this game is that most here want to level to 50 as quick as possible so we can pvp there but even then I was told sometimes putting together your premade 8 man takes a bit and then when you out in the frontiers you might not have anything to fight and they are too large.

Now to get to my point and make my suggestion pitch and obviously I have no clue if this can be even implemented, first I have to tell you a bit about how WAR RvR is and what the devs did to improve it .

In War the rvr is spread around 9 zones in 3 different realms , each zone has 2 keeps in which the forces that capture the keeps and objectives "win" the zone and lock it to move to the next one . The problem was that all the zones are open (kind of like here all frontiers zones are ffa) so you had warbands (BG here) sometimes doing their own thing , not coordinating, not helping the realm , etc and the pvp is effectively spread out across leading sometimes to what we called Doorhammer (taking empty keeps beating on doors) . The devs of war are fans like the ones here they love the game and they make changes that Mythic didn't. They implemented a 1 zone open at time system so only the 2 keeps in that zone can be captured , mind you you can go to any zone you want and duel, 6man (war is 6man groups) etc but nothing can be captured other than the active zone, having this system makes the RvR happen in 1 zone and it always ongoing even during NA times when there is 200-300 on you still have all in one zone , the zerg is usually focusing on the keeps , stealth classes the are always camping the portal keeps etc and 6man are just owning pugs cause there is always pvp going on at the end all end up working for one goal to capture the zone .

Now here is where I'm making my actual suggestions seeing how daoc was developed there are 3 realms and each realm has their own frontier zones i think this game would benefit from first having a RvR channel ( btw thank you for the advice channel), having a RvR channel will allow anyone that wants to lead a pug BG to take keeps ,etc . In WAR there are always pug warbands and private warbands but hey some folks love leading the pug warbands , taking initiative to create pvp more power to them. Now to the main suggestion can we here have a way to funnel the RvR ala WAR system that is having 1 realm open at a time . This could be something like this:

1. Rotate the frontiers ( think of it of a campaign) example first campaign is Albion, only Albion keeps are open to be captured, I know there is relics incentive perhaps institute whichever realm captures all keeps in the campaign gets 4 relics., 2 relics if you capture half of them. How long the campaign lasts ? I don't know 10 days or perhaps 2 weeks.

Next is Midgard campaign and relics reset , same premise.

Last is Hibernia , rinse and repeat .

Now what does this create? Well obviously all the RvR happening in one realm only . With a dedicated RvR channel all can coordinate the rvr effort not only alliances , etc. The relics are also not permanently owned by one realm and all the realms will have their turn at defending their lands by virtue of the rotating campaign.

At the end the WAR devs implemented something really good for a pvp game , if we cant find healthy amount of pvp these 2 games will suffer from people leaving them. I like this server I tried the uthgard server last week before I found this one and I like that the devs here are making good changes (advice channel, class changes, etc) but the end goal is to promote RvR . And even if something similar can be done I know there would be many changes and adjustments to the idea , in fact DF already shares that idea 1 dungeon where technically all realms can pvp if you capture keeps . Least I'm hoping we get a general RvR channel across all regions. Hope my suggestion is not too crazy.
