General Chat - Phoenix Freeshard

Why is the only universal channel focused on advice only? I don't understand the rationale. If anyone dislikes the concept of a general chat, they can just leave it...

It's called /advice channel...not general chat channel.

If you don't want /advice you can leave it also.

/region is more general chat if you need...or guild chat or alliance chat.

/advice is for general chat about the game or advice...not politics or religion or my mom or your mom...just game based chat or advice.

Indeed it is, the question is why not also have a universal general chat? /region and /gc are not universal.

I asked this before and I'm not sure they could implement one without a lot of work.

/trade is not universal either and I asked in beta multiple times about this and was told they would look into, but it was never fixed.

I am not sure they CAN change some of this without a lot of work *shrug*

The developers have responded to requests for a universal/general chat ingame. Essentially it comes down to they can’t code additional channels into the game and either can’t modify and/or don’t feel the need to program an existing channel for that purpose when you have guild/alliance/region chat readily available already. I tend to agree.

I just wish /trade was global and not just regional. Makes it almost useless =(

You could create a channel and advertise it enough that people join it so someone is always in there and solve it without developer intervention, just /create GeneralChat and people can use it, it will become their /4 or /5 or whatever.
