Flexible Weapons, Soulrending, and Reaver

So this idea is to not exactly to buff the Reaver class but divert some of the power of flex weapons into Soulrending.

I have never understood the point of a Reaver being able to spec into Crush, Slash, Thrust weapons, as they have no benefit over flexible. So instead of suggesting adding DD styles and unique styles to the 3 other weapon lines; I will, instead, suggest to remove the DD styles and debuffs from flexible styles and divert that power into Soulrending, which will add balance to the overall class. This can come in any form which can be seen fit for the class. I will give some suggestions below, but these are not cumulative suggestions just some ideas which can be used if this suggestion post goes into fruition.

Make DD proc baseline, and slightly improve its damage and proc rate.
Add Traitor's dagger-esque proc instead of single dd lifetap proc.
Lower Reaver's spell power usage and allow 2 pbaoe chants to be active.
Limit Reaver to Medium Shield proficiency but add defensive lifetap proc.
Make DD/lifetap proc into group chant.
Add lifetap to PBAOE dmg pulse.

I encourage other suggestions as well. I just don't like any class to be a one-trick-pony and slam-levi is just cheesy poor class design which brings no variety. I may add more suggestions as they come to me.

These are all interesting suggestions and absolutely would improve the class from a design perspective. Most players who have tasted modern game design and balance, especially in games like League of Legends, can see the glaringly poor design of most of the classes from a mile away. They are limited, rife with antifun mechanics, and all play similarly. I often find myself wondering why Mythic made the decisions they did when putting the classes together, but the reality is they just didn’t know any better.

Unfortunately we are dealing with two major barriers to the Reaver class (which I intend to main at launch) being reworked in a fashion that would make the class multifaceted and more interesting to play.

1) This game is old as dirt and the Reaver is far from the only class that could use a little modernization.
2) The devs want to keep classes as close to classic as possible while making the super weak ones a little more viable.

The Reaver class will be over powered as a small man/solo class in its current iteration, and thus is not deserving of a rework.

Again, you are absolutely correct and those are some good suggestions, but the philosophy of the server is something along the lines of: “Keep the server as classic as possible while creating a fun and engaging environment for the player base.”
