Hello,
What I learnt from the event :
- Map area smaller size leads to much more encounter while leaving reasonable possibility to run away. Leading to intense, interesting, fun fights.
- Informal solo area to allow for convenient alternative play style or enable quick 20 min play without having to build a group.
- Reduced group size leading to shorter build time and more frequent mix up of players.
- Porting randomly into fighting area enabling very quick action and making death less punitive/frustrating.
It was non-stop action and this looked like a really healthy server pvp.
Being here since the beta, I realize that times I enjoyed the most were Cathal and FFA events. Simply because it is more casual and providing good opportunities to non-elite players. (which I am)
Yes, high skill / coordinated groups will still be farming casuals. But wiping against them and casuals don't need to rebuild 8 man or cross half a realm to get back into the fight.
Porting is an easy way to create quick action and not so hard to implement. For the rest, I think we should consider our options.
Hed.
