Dock Transportation

Invading deep into enemy territory should be a commitment and have an adequate amount of risk when doing so. As it stands, enemies in a foreign realm can use dock transportation to quickly transport themselves to a keep which they can then use to port back to their realm to defend. As attacking a keep can take a good amount of time, the enemy has enough time to change priorities deep from enemy territory and go defend their homeland even if they can't port directly to the defense.

I suggest that we limit foreign dock use to the coastal docks (bledmeer, benowyc, and dun crauchon). Or even make all docks unavailable to foreign enemies. This could provide an amount of risk comparable to actually leaving your homeland to invade deep into enemy territory.

I believe it is too easy for an enemy army to run back home to defend. I also can not think of a good reason that enemies should be allowed to use those docks other than convenience. Thanks for anyone's input and I'm open to other suggestions.

If they did this, wouldn’t people just suicide on an enemy keep and /release to frontier town where they can then port anywhere?

Honestly, that gets them home quicker, most often. Hell, I do this myself already if I’m not that close to a dock.

That is a possibility but unless they are running up to the border keeps it will take a good amount of time for guards to kill a whole zerg.

I’m not sure it’d take any longer than a boat ride takes. No heals coming in, buffs all dropped... it’d at least be comparable, I’d think.

Say the zerg is a size of 50 people, if it's 6 guards hitting a target that's sitting that's 1 second to kill 1 target, then whatever time their swing speed is to kill another target, assuming 2.5 seconds, that's around two minutes. Then they have to release, clear res sick, rebuff and run to the defense. You might be right that there isn't much time difference. I guess I need to think of something else. It just seems too easy to switch from offense to defense even when they are deep in enemy territory.

suiciding gives intel on their actions through the deathmessages though, which is huge

(and the possibility for a random lucky guy to get tons of RPs for being in the right spot at the right time ^^)

I've always found it funny that dock masters will give boats to the enemy, surely they are supposed to be on yourside? bloody traitors.

they are solo and an enemy army rolls up to them, ofcourse they will give away a few boats to the enemy

maybe getting boats at enemy dockmasters could send a realmwide message, similar to the killmessage that an enemy has purchased a boat. Maybe even including name of the buyer, and target of the boat
