I like to be able to see exactly how much damage is being done when I hit - when it hits. The current format has the numerical value of damage given or received hidden in the middle or near the end of the complete sentence given for each roll resolution. This is very irritating to try and follow as combat is happening.
Would it be possible to immediately state the number? Perhaps in parentheses or brackets. This way, the color of the text will allow players to immediately see what happened. I'm a very visual person and have the numbers appear and align vertically as they are produced would be an extremely helpful QOL thing for me.
I was envisioning something like this (color per line defined by the chat window color choice) :
[ 12 ] - You attack the bloodthirsty she-wolf with your Insightful Oakwood Heavy Shod
staff for 12 damage! (Damage Modifier: 393)
[ 31 ] - You hit the bloodthirsty she-wolf for 31 damage!
[ 4 ] - You critically hit for an additional 4 damage! (crit chance %)
[ 33 ] - The bloodthirsty she-wolf hits your leg for 33 damage! (damage modifier: 1994)
Something along these lines.
