Debuff icon to show your current stealth penalty

Can we get an icon (debuff) that informs us that our stealth is reduced? I can't know if other friendly stealthers are around and at least with the warning i can try to avoid them ?

Also would be nice to know the exact mechanic that was used - how many units detection per friendly stealther around, does it start at 2, 3 or 4 ? Cap ?

I agree that there should be some sort of icon or meter, but for now you can just test it with stealthed groupmates I would think.

Under most circumstances I would totally agree... However, the minute they explain how it works is the same minute some people being to exploit or work around it. This mechanic was put in place to slow down the stealth zergs or stealth groups that camp many areas. 2 scenarios: you have either been on the receiving end of multiple arrows from a collection of stealthers or you were part of a group of stealthers that does this. I have been in both scenarios and I can tell you that it is overkill.

If they give you a full understanding of how this works then a couple people will break down the information and start building stealth groups where players stand exactly x number of units away to negate the penalty etc etc.

The problem isn't the fix, the problem is the players that caused the fix. If people on this server would learn to not be overly cheesy for their wins then the GMs and developers wouldn't have to put dumb stuff like this in in the first place.

There is so much cheese on this server its like an uncut prick that hasn't been washed in a week.

Bottom line: Get good, stop being cheesy.

Again to reiterate: I have been there, its fun sometimes and its a novelty build but players that abuse its effectiveness daily lead to multiple stealther groups all over the map and then people just stop coming out to play.

As a player who mostly solos, and solos on a visible toon, I can tell you that the number of other solos that come out to fight has drastically changed due to how often they are ganked when just trying to get to a location to fight. Everything we do on this server eventually has an impact on the servers future. This is the impact of being cheesy just saying.

Again, because players choose to be cheesy. The problem isn't the fix, its the players. Players will always find a work around/loop hole to justify doing what they do.

Lets just assume I want to fix an engine which doenst run properly but my fix doesnt do a shit.
Is it the fault of the enigne or the fault of the guy who "fixed" it?

So what is the work around?

This stealth crying and bitching has gotten out of control. Just play the dam game. stealth has been in the game since it was created. Just because you don't like stealthers to group up doesn't mean the entire game should change just because you don't like it. This stealth nerf is stupid, whats next nerf healing if more them a couple healing toons are in the area, melee damage is reduced if you have more then 2 melee classes in a group, speed spells are reduced if more then 1 speed class is in the area. Just stop, play the game, the game has been here for 20 years and the populations haven't gone down because of stealth in the past, it lost people because of other games. stop crying and just play

Depends if you any good at fixings engines or if the engine is completely knackered and unfixable?

I do believe, the engine we talk about is unfixable.
That’s why I didn’t understand the change in the first place. Because you can’t change the way daoc is.

So as a conclusion the Engine wasn’t broken , it worked as it should And doesn’t need a fix. but some can’t accept that the engine performs at its best and ness around

guys please lets go back to the topic. I'm indifferent what to think about this change and can see why people are frustrated. but the point of this thread is

even as a solo stealther this can effect you heavily and you currently have no way to know that your stealth was decreases because there are other friendly stealthers close by. i want some kind of warning so that i can at least try to avoid it.

suggestion:
1) give a warning debuff once there are many stealthers close (doesnt do anything jet)
2) 10 seconds later if you are still within other stealthers you get the real debuff
3) once you leave the zone you go back to the warning debuff of 1) again and 10 seconds later it disappears.

this way if you move in you get the warnung debuff and either have 10 seconds to hit a target or to leave the high stealther area. once you got the stealth debuff and you leave the center you move back to the warning debuff but you must move out 10 seconds before your warning debuff also disappears otherwise you will get the stealth debuff immediately once you move back again.
