Hi,
I have a suggestion for a solution to an issue I have had with this game for many years since deciding to attempt to play on three monitors.
The game seems to support Nvidia surround and AMD Eyefinity by allowing the game to render a resolution that spans across three monitors. In my situation this resolution is 7680x1440, but I have had the same results with 5760x1080.
When the game loads at these resolutions, it locks the field of vision (FOV) into a "zoomed in" or restricted FOV, making the game very difficult to play. One user described this on another forum as "trying to play soccer while looking through binoculars". I think this is a fairly accurate description.
The issue has been further diagnosed by another user as an problem with the DAOC engine, saying it has always being a -vert game, giving 1/3 the viewable area when gaming in surround, which Mythic later fixed with Warhammer, making it a +hor game.
I hope my description of the issue makes sense.
My suggested solution is to increase total amount of "field of vision" allowed. In other words, let the camera zoom out further away from the character, similar to when you are riding on a boat.
This is the only solution I can currently think of for fixing this issue, and I don't believe it would create any unfair advantage or disadvantage to others while playing.
I'd love to hear your suggestions.
Thanks for your help and support.
