Critical Hit Chance for DoTs

Having done some testing, I'd say that the changes to critical hit chance have disproportionately affected pets and DoTs in a negative way. The reason is that DoTs start with a base 0% chance to crit, versus the base 10% for melee damage or spell direct damage. I saw that Wild Minion was mentioned and at least discussed in the Critical Chance planned changes thread, but I didn't see any discussion of DoTs because I think the crit model for DoTs isn't widely understood.

Pre-change, this meant that a DoT could get the same chance to crit as a DD (10%) if the DoT caster spent 2 realm points on Wild Power 2. Now, the base DD chance is actually better than a DoT with WP4, which costs 7 RP. And it is correspondingly more expensive above that, of course. A similar comparison could be made for melee damage (and archery) and Wild Minion.

I suggest that pets and DoTs should be given some amount of base crit percent unless it was intended that they be able to critical hit that much less than DDs or melee damage.

(there is a whole other discussion to be had about the DoT critical hit model being "all or nothing" but with such a high cost to get any sort of decent crit chance as it is, that is for another day)

Looking at this some more, this also affects Shaman DD & DoT, Thanes, probably Smite Clerics and others (not sure about VW, but skald, minstrel, bard, champion) who get a 0% base crit chance, right?
